Guardians of Orion (Phase 2) officially launched on November 1, 2021, following an open beta that began in August 2021. The Phase 2 release was a major overhaul — a free update for existing owners that brought a new game engine, revamped multiplayer, new heroes, maps, and systems. After launch, the developer posted a handful of patches through April 27, 2022, then went silent for over three years. On August 25, 2025, the developer broke that silence with a 25th anniversary post for the Orion franchise. In that post, they acknowledged the long gap, apologized for the lack of communication, and explicitly stated that more Orion content is planned — writing "The story continues..." and linking to a full written and video update. This is a direct developer statement confirming future intent. However, as of June 27, 2026, that August 25, 2025 post remains the last official communication — now over ten months ago — and no specific content, named DLC, roadmap, or release date has been shared since.
