Dead Effect 2 launched on May 6, 2016 and received a series of post-launch updates through its lifespan. The developer shipped multiple feature patches and content updates in 2016, including major multiplayer additions and new story missions. In January 2017, a substantial content update added side tasks, weapon training systems, and new weapons. In July 2017, the developer posted a status update explicitly promising a "HUGE UPDATE" with new story missions, enemies, gear, and weapons — and confirmed "THE STORY WILL GO ON… to the surprising END," signaling a planned conclusion to the game's narrative arc. That update eventually materialized: on April 5, 2019, BadFly Interactive released both paid DLCs — Cybermagic (a new character and abilities) and Escape from Meridian (a 10-mission story expansion) — alongside a large free content update. Both DLCs are listed as released on the store. The April 2019 release fulfilled the developer's July 2017 promise of a story conclusion and substantial new content. Since April 5, 2019, there have been no further developer communications, no new DLC listings, no roadmaps, and no announcements of future content. The game has been silent for over seven years. With both DLCs shipped, the story explicitly concluded, and no outstanding commitments or further developer activity, the game appears to have reached the end of its content lifecycle with the April 2019 release.
Evidence

Play the single-player missions at your own pace or engage your friends in the cooperative or PvP multiplayer mode. Train, develop your character, collect and upgrade countless weapons, gear and body implants and take control of the monster-infested ship.
