Evaluation
The Last One entered Steam Early Access on January 22, 2018, with Phoenix Interactive Studio describing plans for an episodic single-player story, multiplayer, and wave mode set across a detailed recreation of Istanbul. The developer posted a series of patches through the first eight months — fixing bugs, improving optimization, and adding small features — with the final communication being a bug fix patch on September 10, 2018. That patch even teased that "the next patch will be about story mode," but no such patch ever arrived.
Since September 10, 2018, the developer has posted nothing — no updates, no announcements, no acknowledgment of the game's status. The store page still carries the Early Access label and still describes unfinished content including the full episodic story and multiplayer modes. The game has never graduated to a 1.0 release, and the developer has never communicated whether development is continuing, paused, or abandoned. With more than seven years of complete silence and the game still formally marked as unfinished, there is significant uncertainty about whether this project is still being developed at all.
Evidence
Patch 1.06 released — the last official communication from the developer. The post mentioned a future story mode patch, which never arrived.
Patch 1.01 noted multiplayer was temporarily removed and would return in a future update, indicating the game launched in an unfinished state.

About this game
The year is 2023, once a prosperous city Istanbul is fallen. Nobody knows how a science experiment has become a deadly disaster because there is nobody left to think. The city is full of mindless monsters killing everything they come across and roaming the city once we call “our home”. You, somehow, have survived the disaster and built yourself a shelter. You think that you are the only “living” thing in the city and call yourself “The Last One”.
One day you see strange marks near your shelter that you have never seen before. You will leave everything behind and search who made those marks for a chance to find someone “alive” like you.
Single Player
