Evaluation

Better Late Than DEAD entered Early Access on July 23, 2015, and officially launched (version 1.0) on March 3, 2016. The launch post from March 9, 2016 detailed the final changelog, including multiplayer saving and a wide range of fixes and adjustments, marking the game's transition out of Early Access. All developer activity in the record is concentrated between July 2015 and March 2016 — covering the Early Access period through launch. There have been no news posts, patches, announcements, or developer communications of any kind after March 9, 2016. The game has been publicly available and purchasable on Steam since its 2016 launch with no further content added. There are no unreleased DLC items listed, no season pass, no roadmap pointing beyond the 1.0 release, and no developer statements indicating future content was planned after launch. The August 2015 roadmap post referenced expansion story content and new islands, but all subsequent updates — including the final launch changelog — addressed the features described in that roadmap (building, traps, multiplayer, new items). That story expansion was never formally announced as a confirmed deliverable, and given the total developer silence since March 2016, there is no basis to treat it as outstanding. The game launched as a complete product and no further content has been communicated or delivered in the decade since.
Evidence
