Evaluation

WARMODE is a free-to-play multiplayer shooter that left Early Access on October 3, 2019. Since launch, the game has featured a live service structure: an in-game store selling cosmetic cases and keys, a Steam marketplace for trading items, seasonal limited-time cases (such as Halloween-themed drops), and rotating loot tied to playtime milestones. These systems are designed to keep the game monetized and updated on an ongoing basis — there is no defined endpoint by design. The developer shipped several substantial updates between 2019 and late 2021, including a global engine upgrade in May 2019, new knife models and a Halloween case in October 2019, and two significant gameplay overhauls in October–November 2021 that reworked shooting mechanics, movement, weapon balance, and economy systems. However, the last developer communication of any kind was on November 25, 2021. As of June 27, 2026, this represents more than four and a half years of complete silence — no patch notes, no announcements, no seasonal events, no community posts. For a live service game that previously ran time-limited seasonal events and maintained a regular update cadence, this silence is a significant red flag. The developer has made no statement about the game's future, nor explained the absence of updates. It is unclear whether the game is still being actively maintained or whether development has quietly wound down.
