Evaluation

Game Builder Tycoon launched on September 30, 2024, and the solo developer maintained an active update cadence throughout late 2024 and into early 2025. Updates 1.2 through 1.6 shipped between October 2024 and March 2025, introducing difficulty options, new themes, a mood system, weather visuals, and sandbox play — roughly one update every four to six weeks. On February 24, 2025, the developer published a detailed 2025 roadmap covering all four quarters of the year. Planned features included room and furniture customization (Q2), the ability to create custom game engines and consoles (Q3), and a publisher mode along with audio improvements (Q4). On March 21, 2025, Update 1.6 shipped and confirmed that the Q1 roadmap items had been completed, with the developer noting they were preparing for the next phase. That was the last communication from the developer. As of June 20, 2026, more than 15 months have passed without any further updates, announcements, or devlogs. The Q2–Q4 2025 roadmap items — all of which were due by the end of December 2025 — have not been confirmed as shipped, and no explanation has been given for the prolonged silence. This raises genuine uncertainty about whether the announced content is still being developed and whether the studio remains active.
Evidence
Update 1.6 shipped, confirming all Q1 roadmap items were completed. Developer stated they are 'preparing for the exciting next phase.' This is the last recorded developer communication.
