Evaluation
On January 21, 2021, Freejam officially announced that Gamecraft has been retired. The developer stated that sales were too low to sustain development through to a 1.0 release, and that the game would not receive further updates. Existing owners keep access to the game and the Steam Workshop remains functional, but no new content will be produced. The game remains in Early Access — it never reached a full 1.0 release — and is no longer purchasable, as there are no active purchase options on the store. Because the game cannot be bought, it is effectively delisted, but the Early Access flag takes precedence for phase classification per the framework rules. The developer's retirement announcement is unambiguous: development has permanently ended.
