Evaluation
Gladio and Glory launched into Early Access on March 16, 2021 as a free-to-play physics-based gladiator game from solo developer Adi Zhavo. In the weeks after launch, the developer was active — shipping feature patches, adding a boss arena, a global leaderboard, and then a major PvP multiplayer update on April 21, 2021. Activity continued through late April 2021 with a stamina rework patch.
However, on November 5, 2021, the developer posted a direct statement about the game's future. They explained that as a solo developer, they had reached the limits of what they could achieve alone and needed people with stronger skills to deliver the game they envisioned. They explicitly stated the game would remain "on standby" in Early Access — free to play but without further updates — while they shifted focus to experimenting with new games and projects. This was a clear developer communication that active development had paused indefinitely.
A May 2022 post confirmed the developer had moved on to work on another game (Piratopia) with a new publisher. A November 2022 post was about a different developer's gladiator game entirely, not about Gladio and Glory's own development. There have been no further communications about this game's development from that point through today, June 23, 2026 — nearly five years after the standby announcement.
The game remains in Early Access on Steam with no communicated timeline for a 1.0 release, and the developer has not revisited or retracted the standby statement. Anyone considering this game should be aware that it has been in an indefinite development pause since late 2021.
Evidence
Developer explicitly stated the game is being placed 'on standby' in Early Access indefinitely. They said they've reached the limits of solo development and need to bring on additional talent before resuming. In the meantime, they are shifting focus to new game projects.
Major PvP multiplayer update launched, adding ranked 1v1 duels, custom lobbies for up to 10 players, new maps, new enemies, and voice chat. This was the last significant content release before the standby announcement.

Physics Based Battles.
Filled with funny ragdoll moments and dismemberments that you rarely see in games!Fight in Big Brawls.
Simulate large battles in teams or free for all, why not trying a 1 v 50!Use the Environment and Traps.
Grab and Push opponents on traps or use your swings and momentum to deliver lethal hits!Fight Bosses and Unique Enemies.
It's not just about spamming attacks... be tactical, dodge and catch your enemies off-guard!WARNING: You thought you were good at games ? Think twice, this is actually difficult.
If you're skilled, you can execute in one hit and so can your opponents as-well. Misjudging a fight or not reacting fast enough can result in your head spinning away from your body, losing the Glory you've collected and starting all over again.Last evaluated Jun 23, 2026
