GoNNER
Released Oct 2016
GoNNER is a tough as hell procedurally-generated 2D platformer with roguelike elements, following the largely misunderstood and altruistic Ikk on a journey to cheer up his only friend in this world - a giant landbound whale named Sally - by searching for just the right trinket in the deep and dark places nearby.

Evaluation
GoNNER launched on October 12, 2016 and received a series of post-launch patches adding new content — including a new weapon, ghost companions, daily challenges, and balance tweaks — in the weeks following release. The game's most significant post-launch content arrived on December 18, 2018, in the form of the BlüEBERRY Edition (DLC-2), which added new weapons, heads, enemy types, a new world, and visual updates. A hotfix followed on December 21, 2018 to address platform-specific bugs introduced by that update.
Since December 2018, there have been no further content updates to GoNNER itself. The developer's subsequent communications in 2020 were focused entirely on announcing and launching GONNER2, a standalone sequel — not additional content for the original game. Both DLC items (the OST and the BlüEBERRY Edition) are released, and no unreleased DLC is listed on the store. The store description reflects the BlüEBERRY Edition as the current state of the game, with no mention of future updates. The developer has moved on to a sequel, and GoNNER appears to have concluded its content lifecycle as of the BlüEBERRY Edition release in December 2018.
Evidence
Developer announced and launched GONNER2, a standalone sequel. Subsequent communications from Art in Heart are focused on the sequel, with no further content planned for the original GoNNER.
BlüEBERRY Edition released as paid DLC, adding new weapons, heads, enemy types, a new world, and visual updates — the last content addition to the game.

About this game
Out of the blüe, we’ve updated our first IGF award-winning game! GoNNER BlüEBERRY EdiTION adds new weapons, heads, enemy types, a new challenge, some sweet, sweet, new visuals. And yes, there are also blüeberries.
Hop back into GoNNER if it’s been a while! And if you lose your head, it’s cool—we have plenty more where that came from.
GoNNER is a tough as hell score-based procedurally-generated platformer with roguelike elements. GoNNER is also a story about friendship between Ikk, Death, and a space whale named Sally.
You will die. A lot. This is by design, but it's not made to feel unfair. You'll eventually get the hang of GoNNER, so don't lose your head. But even if you do it's okay cause we have a lot of replacement heads you can use.

- DAILY CHALLENGES! Only playable once a day. Levels are randomly generated but in this mode everybody plays the same world and use an identical loadout. Everything resets at midnight (Swedish time, UTC+1). Can you crush your leaderboard foes?
- PROCEDURALLY GENERATED! Every time you play the game the levels will be different and present unique challenges and opportunities.
- UNLOCKS! You'll be able to choose from a variety of passive and active abilities at the beginning of each run so be sure to experiment with all of them and find the play style that best suits you
- SECRETS! Secret areas exist in the world of GoNNER, and these areas will get you different items that you can then always use from the beginning of each run. We're not going to tell you how you get to these areas or what the criteria is for even finding them because secrets, duh.
- LEADERBOARDS! Kill creatures, get combos, score points, and brag to your friends how much better you are than them.
- MUSIC! It's really freaking good.
Good luck.
