Gunsmith Simulator: Prologue is a free-to-play introductory experience for the full Gunsmith Simulator game, which has been in active post-launch development with a strong and consistent content release pattern. While the Prologue itself is a fixed demo-style product, the developer (GameHunters) has been actively communicating through the Prologue's Steam news channel to promote content shipped for the main game.
The most recent post on May 28, 2026 announced the Heavy Metal DLC for Gunsmith Simulator — one of the biggest content packs the developer has released — featuring four new machine guns, new mechanics, and a major free Update 1.6. In that same post, the developer explicitly stated: "Thanks to you, we can continue developing Gunsmith Simulator, creating new DLCs, and delivering free updates for the entire Gunsmith community."
