Evaluation

hate.net launched on June 2, 2025 as developer bonitāka's first commercial release. In the months following launch, the developer was quite active: a Day 1 patch shipped on June 3, 2025 alongside a post committing to future improvements including an Endless mode and late-game difficulty rework. That Endless mode update arrived on June 17, 2025, also adding a Tutorial level. A leaderboard and achievements system followed on July 26, 2025, with follow-up bug fixes on July 26 and July 30, 2025. The most recent communication is a one-year anniversary post from June 5, 2026, in which the developer expresses that the game's reception "gives me the will to keep making cool things." This is an enthusiastic statement of continued creative motivation, but it stops short of announcing specific new content or a roadmap. No DLC has been listed on the store, and no concrete future content has been named. The game has received two meaningful post-launch content drops (the Endless Cycle update and the Leaderboard/Achievements update), establishing that the developer does engage in post-launch updates. However, those two updates occurred within the first two months after launch, and there has been no major content since July 2025 — nearly 11 months ago as of today. The anniversary post in June 2026 is the only communication in that span, and while warm and encouraging, it does not announce new content. Given that the most recent developer communication is from June 5, 2026 — just 12 days ago — the developer remains engaged, but has not announced specific upcoming content. The game appears to be in a stable, complete state with no outstanding commitments, and the developer's anniversary message reflects personal pride rather than a content roadmap.

About this game

a minimalistic FPS movement shooter. An energy drink-sized time capsule of endless fighting. A micro-world of bots in a perpetual state of meaningless conversation with each other. Stay as long as you like - they've fought long before you, and they'll fight long after you're gone.

Master a simple and responsive player moveset, featuring sliding, jumping, and a double-jump that allows you to redirect your velocity. Kill enemies with your sword and gun and find unique interactions hidden in these mechanics.

You are a rare visitor in this world. Go deep into chasing high-scores and watch as enemies begin to target you, escalating the gameplay into chaos. Alternatively, sit back and observe the bots stuck in the endless cycle of violence.

Walk around the lobby and explore the world that houses none. Take it all in as the world hangs in a standstill, near entropy but never quite there...
