Hellbound

Hellbound launched on August 4, 2020 and received its final major content update — the Flying Souls campaign level and Ground Zero survival arena remaster — on December 18, 2020. A cosmetic/extras DLC (the Mayhem Pack, containing an artbook and soundtrack) shipped on October 30, 2020. In the December 2020 update post, the developer was transparent about the financial situation: the publisher's investment had not been recouped and the team could not continue expanding the game. They described that update as a farewell gift to supporters and announced that the current team would be disbanding. On June 23, 2021, the developer shipped one final feature patch (v1.1.3) adding Steam Achievements, cloud saves, and a Spanish language option. In that same post, the developer explicitly stated: "this right here is probably our last update, or at least for now," and confirmed they were moving on to new projects. All subsequent developer communications — an October 2021 post about new upcoming projects, a December 2022 post about a new game release, and a January 2025 recap video — focus entirely on Saibot Studios' other titles (particularly their upcoming game Tenebris Somnia). There have been no announcements of new Hellbound content in any of these posts. The sole DLC, the Mayhem Pack, has been released. No unreleased DLC is listed on the store. The developer has clearly moved on, and the June 23, 2021 patch is the last official update to the game.
