Helltown originally launched on September 27, 2017. On July 19, 2024, WildArts Games released the "Revival Update" — a substantial free overhaul that remade the game with new models, animations, redesigned environments, revamped gameplay, new dialogues, a new storyline, and an entirely new soundtrack. The developer described this as remaking and drastically improving the game. A series of bug fix and feature patches followed in quick succession (July 19, 20, and 25, 2024), addressing issues and adding gamepad support and Steam Cloud integration. The last developer communication was on July 25, 2024. There are no unreleased DLC listings, no announced future content, no roadmap, and no sustained pattern of post-launch major content releases that would suggest more is on the way. The developer has not announced any additional content following the Revival Update and its post-launch patches. The Revival Update appears to represent the completion of the developer's content ambitions for the game, and the subsequent patches wrapped up stability and feature work shortly after launch.

The year is 1959, you are a postman and you must deliver mail to a brand new town called Little Vale. Although the sun is shining and the birds are chirping, this town is shrouded in mystery. Something… unnatural is afoot here.

Talk to the town's people and explore Little Vale to uncover clues as to what's behind this seemingly idyllic town. However, when all hell breaks loose, you'll have to run away and hide from insidious monsters!

Who is that strange woman you see in your dreams? What does she want with you? What secrets are the Little Vale's residents hiding? It's up to you to find out by seeking out the 5 different endings possible! Will you be able to escape, or will you be another lost soul trapped in... Helltown?
