Heroic Armored Company entered Steam Early Access on August 20, 2020. In July 2021, the developer — working largely alone — delivered a major update that effectively rebuilt the game from scratch, introducing new systems, models, and gameplay modes. At the time of that update, the developer stated plans to gradually add new levels and tanks from different countries, and the store description still reflects this unfinished state, explicitly noting the game has 5 story mode levels and 5 mission mode levels completed with more to come.
However, the last developer communication of any kind — a minor bug fix patch — was posted on July 31, 2021. No updates, announcements, or posts of any kind have appeared since that date. Given that today is June 24, 2026, this means the game has been silent for nearly 5 years. The developer had previously posted fairly regularly throughout 2020 and the first half of 2021, making this prolonged silence a significant departure from their prior communication pattern.
The game remains purchasable on Steam in its Early Access state, still carries its original description promising future content, and has never been announced as complete or abandoned. The promised additional levels and vehicles have not been delivered, but there is no confirmation from the developer about the current status of development.

The game is currently divided into story mode and mission mode. In story mode, you need to follow the story line to participate in different battles and gain experience, money and command authority according to your performance.
In the mission mode, according to your experience, money and command authority, you can unlock different tanks, buy different ammunition, night vision, laser suppression system, active defense system and other different equipment, as well as command different tanks to complete the task in cooperation. Of course, the money used to buy ammunition is the virtual money in the game instead of real money, this game does not need to spend real money to buy equipment.
