Higurashi When They Cry Hou - Ch.2 Watanagashi is the second chapter in a multi-chapter visual novel series. The full series has been released in its entirety on Steam. The original eight chapters (Ch.1 through Ch.8 Matsuribayashi, the story's finale) all shipped between 2015 and 2020. Following the main story, additional supplementary content was released: the Rei bonus arcs on June 3, 2022, and the Hou+ compilation on November 10, 2023, which the developer described as "other fragments, other memories, other worlds" beyond the completed main story. The developer characterized Hou+ as the final piece of this series on Steam, with no further chapters or expansions announced since that November 2023 release. The series was conceived and released as a finite, complete narrative work, and all installments have now shipped.
