HITMAN™ 2

HITMAN™ 2 is no longer available for purchase on Steam — there are no purchase options listed, meaning the game has been removed from sale. This is consistent with IO Interactive's broader consolidation of the World of Assassination trilogy under HITMAN™ 3 (later rebranded as HITMAN: World of Assassination), which absorbed the content from HITMAN 2. The game launched on November 13, 2018 and received a substantial content run through its Expansion Pass. The final piece of paid expansion content — Haven Island, set in the Maldives — shipped on September 27, 2019, which was explicitly described as "the exciting conclusion to the HITMAN 2 Expansion Pass." Prior to that, The Bank (June 25, 2019) and the Siberia Sniper Assassin map (July 30, 2019) had also shipped as part of the expansion content. The last developer news post in the dataset is from November 20, 2019, which celebrated HITMAN 2's one-year anniversary and referenced looking ahead to "the future of the Hitman franchise" — signaling that HITMAN 2's own content lifecycle was winding down. All expansion pass content shipped as promised, and no further content was announced or remains unreleased. The game's content was complete as of September 27, 2019, when Haven Island — the final expansion pass location — launched.
