Home Design 3D launched on November 20, 2015 and has received incremental updates over the years. The two most notable feature updates were Version 4.2 (April 4, 2018), which added multi-story floors and 400+ new objects, and Version 4.3 (February 25, 2019), which added multi-selection and interface improvements. A single paid DLC — Gold Plus — was released on April 3, 2018 and remains the only DLC on the store. On January 13, 2023, the developer announced a companion VR application (Home Design 3D VR) for Meta Quest 2 and Pro — a spin-off platform release rather than new content for the Steam game itself. Since then, the only activity across 46 news posts has been community contests and ambassador features, with no announcements of new content, patches, or future development plans for the Steam version. The store description references a "New Update" adding dormer windows and 600+ textures, but this appears to be a legacy highlight rather than a recent development. With no unreleased DLC, no announced roadmap, and no developer communications indicating further content is planned, the game appears to have concluded its active development cycle. The last substantive Steam update was in early 2019, and no developer communications suggest additional content is coming.
