Evaluation

Iconoclasts launched on January 23, 2018 as a self-contained, narrative-driven platformer — the solo work of developer Joakim Sandberg, described as "seven long years in the making." The store description frames it as a complete, finished story with no mention of ongoing content or future additions. After launch, the developer released a soundtrack DLC on February 15, 2018, and shipped a meaningful post-launch patch on August 2, 2018 (version 1.15) that added a Boss Rush mode, a new Relaxed difficulty, and mid-game difficulty switching — timed to coincide with the Nintendo Switch release. That August 2018 patch is the last recorded developer communication of any kind. No further updates, announcements, or content have been posted since August 2, 2018. There are no unreleased DLC entries on the store. The game has no live-service elements, no roadmap, and no announced future content. Given that the game was always presented as a complete single-player experience and the developer has been silent since August 2018, Iconoclasts is a finished product with no further content expected.
Evidence
Patch 1.15 added Boss Rush mode and a new Relaxed difficulty, timed to the Nintendo Switch launch. This is the last developer communication on record.

About this game

Robin just wants to be a mechanic and help people, but without a license she’s a sinner in Mother’s eyes. Ever since picking up her wrench, the world has been going nuts and she's wanted to bolt it back together. Now Penance is raining down on everyone she loves and One Concern agents are after her.

But something big is going on – bigger than droughts of Ivory fuel and personal conflicts – and Robin’s in the thick of it.

  • Hours of nut-twisting platform action-adventure
  • Numerous densely detailed locations filled with fine-tuned action and puzzles
  • 20+ gear-grinding, screen-filling boss battles stand in your way
  • Three game-changing difficulty settings supported by a unique tweak system
  • A heart-wrenching epic – can one mechanic fix the whole world?

Iconoclasts is the masterwork of indie developer Joakim Sandberg, seven long years in the making. Iconoclasts delivers awesome action, hilarious hijinks and an emotional rollercoaster of deeply personal storytelling.
