Ikki Unite launched on February 14, 2023 and has received a consistent stream of updates from SUNSOFT. The developer posted a roadmap of planned changes on February 21, 2023 and followed through with Version 1.1.0 on March 2, 2023. A major free update (Version 2.0.0) arrived on March 24, 2023, adding a new Flipside mode, new bosses, and new sub-weapons. In March–April 2024, Version 3.1.0 and 3.1.4 brought significant content expansions tied to the Nintendo Switch launch. Version 4.0.1 shipped on June 6, 2024, introducing Hard Mode, a new rare item, and character reworks. Version 4.1.0 followed on August 27, 2024 with balance adjustments and bug fixes.
