Immersion Chess launched on May 15, 2017 as a free-to-play VR chess game. Following launch, the developer shipped two feature patches in June and July 2017, then released a substantial update on September 4, 2017 improving the AI, adding achievements, game overview, and time increment features. Two paid DLC packs — Advanced AI and Environment: Space — launched on September 6, 2017, rounding out the game's post-launch content cycle. Both DLC entries are released with no unreleased items remaining on the store. All developer communications stop after September 6, 2017, with no posts, updates, roadmaps, or announcements since that date. The developer has not communicated any plans for additional content, and the roughly nine-year silence since the last post far exceeds any pattern that could suggest ongoing development. The game appears to have shipped as a complete product, with the September 2017 DLC release representing the final content additions.
