Incantation launched globally on November 18, 2024 as a first-person horror mystery game adapted from the Taiwanese horror film of the same name. Shortly after launch, the developer shipped a bug-fix patch on November 26, 2024 adding DirectX 11 support. On December 20, 2024, SOFTSTAR released a free post-launch content update called "Where's Mommy?" — a new gameplay chapter unlocked after completing story mode, where players take on the role of the Celestial Child. This update also included environment optimizations and a new censorship mode option. Since that December 20, 2024 update, there have been no further developer communications, no announced upcoming content, and no unreleased DLC listed on the store. The game appears to have shipped as a complete, self-contained experience with one post-launch content addition, with no indication from the developer that further updates are planned.
