Initial Drift Online

Initial Drift Online launched in late 2020 and has received a sustained stream of updates over the years, including two major content drops: a large update on March 30, 2023 (new map, new cars, new DLC, new game mode) and another on April 2, 2025 (Myogi map DLC, four new cars, proximity voice chat, Steam friend invites, and other improvements). All five DLC items currently listed on the store have been released. The most important recent signal is a developer post from December 14, 2025, in which RewindApp announced their new successor game "Akina" and explicitly stated: "A small update for Initial Drift Online should also be released in collaboration with the new game." This is a direct commitment to additional content for Initial Drift Online. Akina was targeting an early 2026 release window. The most recent communication from the developer on this game's Steam page is dated March 10, 2026, and it focused entirely on Akina's soundtrack and wishlist milestone — with no mention of the promised Initial Drift Online tie-in update. As of October 1, 2026, there has been no developer communication for approximately 7 months and no confirmation that the promised update was ever delivered. The developer's historical pattern has involved long gaps between major updates (roughly 2 years between the 2023 and 2025 major releases), but the specific outstanding promise — made by the developer themselves — creates uncertainty when combined with the extended silence.
