Hashiriya Drifter launched on July 10, 2020 as an online multiplayer racing game. In its first year and a half, the developer shipped a steady stream of feature updates: new maps, cars, modes, and visual improvements arrived regularly from July 2020 through February 2021, culminating in a substantial "Big Update 2.0" in July 2021 that added characters, a new garage, and more cars, with promises of a "big roadmap ahead with many new big updates coming."
However, after that July 2021 update, developer communications dropped off sharply. The only post after that point was a New Year's message on December 31, 2022, which expressed excitement about "future plans" but provided no specifics. Since then — as of June 2026 — there have been no patch notes, announcements, or developer communications of any kind. That is more than three years of silence following what had previously been a fairly active update cadence.
The July 2021 post explicitly referenced a roadmap with "many new big updates coming," but none of those promised updates have materialized or been followed up on. The game remains purchasable and online, but the developer has not publicly communicated anything about its status, whether updates are still planned, or whether the studio is still actively working on it. Given the extended silence and the unresolved promises from 2021, it is unclear whether development is ongoing or has quietly stopped.
