Inked: A Tale of Love has had a long and winding development history. Originally released in 2018, the game was taken down in 2020 when the developer signed with a new publisher (Pixmain) to completely overhaul and re-release it. That re-release happened on August 27, 2021 as "Inked: A Tale of Love," a substantially improved version of the original game with upgraded controls, visuals, and story.
On March 6, 2024, Somnium Games posted an update announcing they had regained publishing rights for Inked (parting ways with Pixmain), and added a minor sandbox mode to the game. This is the last recorded developer communication.
The game has no unreleased DLC listed on the store, no announced roadmap or future content, and no post-launch pattern of major content expansions. The 2024 update was modest in scope — a sandbox mode addition alongside the publishing rights announcement — and no follow-up communication has been made since March 6, 2024. The developer has not signaled any further content plans. The original game launched as a complete narrative experience, and the re-release continued in that tradition. With over two years of silence since the last update and no outstanding commitments, the game appears to be content-complete.
