Intravenous 2: Mercenarism is a standalone prologue to Intravenous 2 that is no longer available for purchase on Steam. The developer announced on July 15, 2024 and again on August 1, 2024 that support for the prologue would conclude on August 8, 2024, and that the ability to add it to one's library would be closed. This has come to pass — the store page currently shows no purchase options. Players who already added it to their library can still play it, but no new acquisitions are possible. The prologue fulfilled its role as a playable preview ahead of Intravenous 2's full release on August 15, 2024. Since then, the developer has moved on to Intravenous 3, which was announced on April 3, 2026, with a free standalone prologue — Intravenous 3: Borderline — released on October 2, 2026.
