PIGFACE entered Early Access on September 18, 2025, backed by a publishing deal with DreadXP that the developer announced on May 6, 2025 — explicitly stating the game would be completed "no matter what." Since launch, the game has received a consistent cadence of major content updates: The Mall Update shipped on November 20, 2025 with a new level, weapons, and new mechanics; The Controller Update followed on December 17, 2025; the Penitentiary & Kicking Update launched on March 12, 2026 with two new levels and a kicking mechanic; and the Crafting Update shipped on July 30, 2026, adding a new crafting system, a remix mode for most story levels, a new enemy faction (the Junkies), a new level (Urban Plaza), and new equipment. The developer then posted a feature patch on August 13, 2026, addressing AI improvements and bug fixes. The developer (titolovesyou) has been active and communicative throughout, referencing a 1.0 release as the goal since launch day. The game is clearly mid-development with new levels, systems, and story content continuing to be added at a steady pace roughly every two to four months.
