Investigator

Investigator launched on June 1, 2016 as a free-to-play first-person exploration game. It received a series of patches and two free DLC releases in its first year: a free story DLC bundled into Update 1.1 (August 12, 2016) and a holiday-themed New Year DLC (December 19, 2016). The final content release was the Survivor Update on February 2, 2018, which remade levels, added new research locations, achievements, and a new finale. By July 2017 the developer had already signaled a shift in focus, noting publicly that they were actively working on a new game called ShadowSide. That game launched in August 2018, and the developer has continued releasing new titles ever since — ColdSide was announced in January 2020, Uninvited Guest in October 2021, and Void Inside in January 2024 (with a playable demo released in October 2025). No further content for Investigator has been announced at any point since the Survivor Update. All three DLCs in the store listing are released, no unreleased content exists, and the developer has made no communications about Investigator since February 2018. The game is a complete, finished product.
