Lake of Creatures

Lake of Creatures launched on November 15, 2024 and received a sustained run of post-launch updates from the solo developer. The game shipped two major content updates: a large feature patch in July 2025 (v1.40, adding new characters and gameplay systems), and the "BIG BOSS Update" on December 2, 2025, which added new boss fights, reworked existing bosses, new arenas, and improved sound design throughout. On April 2, 2026, the developer released a Supporter Pack DLC — a 18-minute developer commentary about the making of the game. Notably, this DLC explicitly includes a segment titled "What Happened After Release?" describing what came next for the developer. The framing throughout is retrospective, treating Lake of Creatures as a completed chapter. The clearest signal came on June 1–8, 2026, when the developer announced and released their next game, Ogre Chambers 2222. In the announcement post, the developer explicitly described Lake of Creatures as their first game, reflected on its launch as a "huge learning moment," and said they had moved on to apply those lessons to a new project. The Ogre Chambers 2222 release post similarly frames Lake of Creatures as a past project — "Making Lake of Creatures was a huge thing for me... many things that I feel like went wrong with Lake of Creatures I improved on my next game." There is no mention of future updates to Lake of Creatures, no roadmap for additional content, and no unreleased DLC. The developer's full attention has shifted to their new title. The only DLC (the Supporter Pack) is released and is explicitly described as non-gameplay content — a thank-you to supporters rather than an expansion. All evidence points to Lake of Creatures being a complete, finished game as of the December 2, 2025 content update, with the developer now focused on Ogre Chambers 2222.
