Evaluation

League of Pixels entered Steam Early Access on December 26, 2019 as a free-to-play 2D MOBA. Through its first year or so, the developer — a solo indie developer operating under the Danius label — was actively posting feature patches and balance updates, with six update posts between April 2020 and January 2021. The updates introduced significant features such as a full shop rework (Update 4.0.0 on September 16, 2020), a leaderboard system (Update 3.5.0 on May 18, 2020), ranged minions (Update 4.0.3 on September 23, 2020), and a control rework with match history (Update 4.0.5 on January 13, 2021). However, the last developer post of any kind was that January 13, 2021 update. Since then — more than five years as of today — there has been no communication: no patch notes, no development updates, no announcements, and no explanation for the silence. The game remains in Early Access, meaning the developer has never declared it complete or shipped a 1.0 release. The store description still references a "constantly rising roster," implying ongoing development intent that has not been followed through on publicly. Given the extended and unexplained silence from the developer, it is unclear whether this game is still being developed or whether development has quietly ended without any formal announcement.
