Legend of Mortal launched on June 14, 2024 and has been in active development since. The game has received two major content updates post-launch: v1.0.5000.0 on August 28, 2025 (adding three major story arcs including the Broken Temple route, Qingcheng Academy arc, and Ye Yunshang relationship storyline), and a steady stream of feature patches and bug fixes throughout 2024 and 2025.
The developer is currently working on a named major update called "Kongdong Shenwu" (崆峒神威), which was formally announced on July 10, 2026 with a September 15, 2026 release date. On August 18, 2026 — just one day before today's assessment — the developer posted an update explaining that several team members fell ill, requiring them to postpone the update to October 15, 2026. The developer confirmed that remaining team members are continuing development work and expressed their commitment to delivering quality content rather than rushing a release.
This upcoming update includes a new main story branch, new character relationship storylines (Xiaomei and Yuzhu), expanded side stories, a new "Brave" difficulty mode, new battle mechanics, and UI improvements. Two soundtrack DLCs have also been released — the second on September 10, 2025 — reflecting the ongoing creative output of the studio.
The developer remains communicative and actively engaged. The October 15, 2026 release of the Kongdong Shenwu update is a firm, publicly announced commitment with a specific date.
