Little Lives launched out of Early Access on March 8, 2024. At that time, the solo developer explicitly stated they planned to continue supporting the game with free feature updates. Since then, the game has received two major post-launch content updates: a substantial v1.04 patch on June 1, 2024 (which also announced that work on v1.1 had begun), and the v1.1 update on January 26, 2025, which added significant generational life simulation features — having children, aging, schools, nannies, and the ability to continue playing as your character's offspring. Maintenance patches have continued through the most recent communication on August 24, 2025 (v1.13).
The two major post-launch updates (June 2024 and January 2025) establish a cadence of roughly 6–8 months between significant content releases. As of today, October 1, 2026, it has been approximately 14 months since the last major content update (v1.1, January 26, 2025), and approximately 13 months since the last developer communication of any kind (v1.13, August 24, 2025). This silence does exceed the established 6–8 month content cadence — in fact it pushes past the threshold for concern. However, the developer has never stated that development is complete or that no further updates are planned. The launch statement explicitly promised ongoing free feature updates, and that commitment has not been walked back.
Given that the last communication was August 24, 2025 and the historical interval between major updates has been 6–8 months, the current silence (now past 13 months since any post) is notable. This pushes toward uncertainty, but the developer is a solo creator whose update intervals have not been strictly regular, and there is no distress signal — no announcement of studio closure, funding loss, or explicit "final update" statement. The balance of evidence still supports ongoing development rather than completion, but the prolonged silence since August 2025 is worth noting for anyone following this game.
