Loretta launched on Steam on February 16, 2023, following a January 2023 announcement in which the developer explicitly stated "Loretta is finished!" after two years of development. Post-launch activity consisted of bug fixes, quality-of-life patches, localization improvements (including a Steam Deck verification and an improved Spanish translation), and a Digital Artbook released on March 27, 2023. On February 16, 2024 (the game's one-year anniversary), the developer posted a brief update noting "exciting news coming up for Loretta this year" — which was fulfilled on April 11, 2024, when Loretta launched on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox. That console release represents the last major milestone for the game. The developer's anniversary post also noted that their primary focus has shifted to a new project called HYPERBOREA-12, a strategy game in active development. There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content for Loretta, and no roadmap suggesting further updates. The game shipped as a complete narrative experience, received its console ports, and the developer has moved on to their next title.

Story
Loretta is a housewife. Her husband Walter is a writer. Dragged from the glitz and glamour of New York City and thrust into a dilapidated farmhouse in the rural south, both are unsuccessful, struggling with their finances and their relationship. But when Loretta learns of her husband’s infidelity and a remarkably lucrative life insurance policy filed in his name, a grisly plan begins to take root. It is up to the player to decide how far she will follow it.Features
