Lost Hope: Backrooms

Lost Hope: Backrooms graduated from Early Access to its full 1.0 release on May 22, 2026, capping an extensive Early Access period during which the developer shipped numerous major content updates — including new levels, a new entity, a multiplayer expedition mode, and more. Since the full release, the developer has continued active work: the Summer Update on June 25, 2026 added a reworked level (Level 98 – Downtown Diner), a limited-time summer event, and various improvements. A cleanup patch followed on July 9, 2026, removing the now-expired summer event. Most recently, on August 17, 2026 (today), the developer shipped Ukrainian voice localization, a new tutorial course, and additional bug fixes. Across four consecutive posts — May 22, June 25, July 9, and August 17 — the developer has repeatedly and explicitly announced a planned "final Major Lost Hope update" targeted for Halloween 2026. An active community survey is open through the end of August 2026, soliciting player input on what this update should contain. The developer has also signaled they are working on a next game, suggesting Halloween 2026 is intended as the conclusion of Lost Hope's content development before they move on.
