Lost Nova launched on May 11, 2022 as a complete cozy adventure game. After launch, the developer (Jon Nielsen) issued a handful of bug-fix and feature patches in the weeks following release, then shifted focus to new projects entirely. On June 24, 2025 — marking the game's third anniversary — Jon posted a small performance and quality-of-life patch (Patch 1.03) and signed off with: "Thanks for playing my first game." This message, combined with the note that he is already working on his fourth game, signals that Lost Nova is a finished product receiving only occasional maintenance care. The developer has since moved on to announce and release multiple subsequent titles: Mechanibot (September 2022), WitchHand (February 2024), and most recently Mistpaw Ravine, which received a release date announcement in February 2026. There are no announced expansions, DLC, or future content plans for Lost Nova. No unreleased DLC appears in the store listing. The game shipped as a complete, self-contained experience and the developer has clearly communicated — through both explicit language and his subsequent body of work — that Lost Nova's content is done.
