MagiCat launched on August 22, 2017 as a complete, self-contained side-scrolling platformer with 63 levels across 7 worlds. The game shipped as a finished product with no post-launch content expansions planned or delivered. The only DLC ever released was the game's soundtrack on September 19, 2017 — not gameplay content. Since launch, the developer has continued to maintain the game with periodic quality-of-life patches: adding checkpoints (September 2017), Brazilian Portuguese translation (January 2021), V-Sync options (August 2022), controller icon improvements (December 2022), a CRT display effect and Italian translation (January 2024), and Spanish (Latin American) translation (February 2026). These are all maintenance and accessibility improvements, not new gameplay content. A Nintendo Switch port was announced on August 22, 2018, but this is a platform port rather than new content for the Steam version. No expansions, story DLC, new worlds, or additional levels have ever been announced or released. The game is complete as originally shipped — the ongoing patches simply reflect the developer keeping the game running well for its existing players.
