About this game

Makarov Physics Suite brings together 180 interactive experiments in mechanics, oscillations, waves, optics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, fluids, quantum physics and nonlinear dynamics. Every experiment is a scene you can change: adjust the controls, watch the apparatus respond and compare the picture with the plots and numbers beside it.

Robot arm workshop: guide a six-axis arm by hand or let it pick, sort and stack physical objects.

Engines and mechanisms: a Stirling engine with transparent cylinders, a seven-cylinder radial engine, a steam engine, a four-stroke engine, Watt's flyball governor, a clock escapement, gears and linkages.

Fields and particles: a tokamak you can open, a Tesla coil and a plasma globe, Stern-Gerlach analyzers, a cyclotron, a velocity selector, Kelvin's water dropper, magnetic levitation.

Fluids and heat: a Galileo thermometer, a hydraulic jump in a glass flume, a lattice-Boltzmann wind tunnel, a three-dimensional hourglass, tsunamis, capillary rise, a wind turbine and the Betz limit.

Optics and quantum physics: polarization, rainbows, mirages, hydrogen orbitals, Bell tests and quantum measurement on the Bloch sphere.

The apparatus is drawn as real objects - enamel, brass, copper and glass under studio light, with shadows and labelled parts. Models range from exact mechanisms to numerical simulations; each experiment states its assumptions, and the numbers it prints are checked against independent reference calculations. Selected fluid and particle experiments run on the GPU (CUDA, OpenCL or Vulkan) when one is available.

Browse the rotating carousel or switch to the searchable grid. Experiments run locally and offline: for study, classroom demonstrations or an evening of "what happens if".

Menu translations cover 23 languages. Translation depth varies by module; some explanations and controls use English outside the English and Russian versions.
