Marvel's Avengers – The Definitive Edition is no longer available for purchase on Steam. The game has been delisted from the storefront.
The developer, Crystal Dynamics, formally announced the end of all support on September 30, 2023, confirming it would no longer be sold after that date. Prior to that, patch v2.8 (released March 31, 2023) was explicitly described as "the final content update for Marvel's Avengers," and the follow-up hotfix v2.8.2 (April 6, 2023) was noted as the expected final patch before end-of-support. No new content has been released or announced since then.
The game received a substantial post-launch content run: the War for Wakanda expansion launched August 17, 2021, adding Black Panther as a playable hero; Hawkeye was added March 18, 2021; the Winter Soldier arrived November 29, 2022; and various feature patches and events were delivered throughout. All of that development has concluded. Existing owners retain access to the game and its content, but no new purchases are possible and no further updates are coming.
