Wayfinder

Wayfinder had a turbulent history — originally launched as an online live-service game, it was restructured by developer Airship Syndicate in May 2024 into an offline-first, buy-once co-op ARPG with all microtransactions removed. The reworked "Echoes" version re-entered Early Access on June 11, 2024, then reached its full 1.0 release on October 21, 2024, which added a new playable character (Lora), a new open-world zone (The Crucible), two Lost Zones, new weapons, armor sets, and more. Post-launch, the developer has continued shipping updates at a consistent cadence: Nightmare difficulty and multiple save slots arrived on December 12, 2024; Hardcore Mode and the Xbox platform launch followed on January 28, 2025; a targeted bug-fix patch shipped on February 5, 2025; and on January 26, 2026, Airship Syndicate released a Battle Chasers-themed cosmetics mod created in-house, the most recent developer communication. This mod delivery also fulfills the earlier commitment to add PC mod support. The developer has stated that Wayfinder's future depends on player support and that they "love the IP and will continue to grow it" if possible, but has not made specific announcements about named upcoming content. Given the sustained pattern of updates from October 2024 through January 2026 — approximately one significant update every 1–3 months — and no developer statement indicating development has concluded, the game continues to receive meaningful post-launch work. The most recent update was on January 26, 2026, roughly 8.5 months before today's date (October 8, 2026). The historical cadence between updates has ranged from about 1 to 12 months, and silence since January 2026 places us near but not clearly beyond the outer edge of that window. The developer has made no statement ending further development, so the active development posture is maintained, albeit with reduced confidence given the length of the current quiet period.
