Mean Beans launched as a free-to-play battle royale FPS on July 24, 2023. Following launch, the developer shipped a series of feature patches throughout August and September 2023, adding new weapons, map changes, settings options, and bug fixes. The last recorded developer communication was on November 14, 2023 (Patch 1.16), which made changes to the Fava Farm map and noted that "other changes are in the works but taking a while." That comment hinted at future intentions at the time, but no further updates, announcements, or developer posts have appeared since November 14, 2023 — now over 2.5 years ago. The four DLC packs (all cosmetic hat packs) were all released on launch day and none remain unreleased. There are no announced expansions, roadmaps, or outstanding content commitments. Given the extended silence well beyond the developer's previously active patch cadence, the game appears to have reached the end of its active development cycle.
