Mechs & Mercs: Black Talons launched on January 9, 2015. Following launch, developer Camel 101 released two feature patches: Patch 1.1 on January 23, 2015 (balance adjustments and fixes) and Patch 1.2 on May 11, 2015 (which added a Survival Mode and local leaderboards). After that, all developer activity shifted entirely to new projects. Their February 28, 2023 and October 13, 2025 news posts announce a separate game called "Beneath," with no mention of any new content or updates for Black Talons. The store description contains no mentions of planned DLC, season passes, or future content, and the DLC list shows no unreleased items. The game launched as a complete, self-contained product and received its final content addition — the Survival Mode — in May 2015. No further development activity has been communicated since then.

About this game
A devastating war has torn the galaxy apart. Dozens of planets and star systems have declared independence or forged new alliances, while governments fall and warlords rise to power. Chaos and corruption are everywhere and so to maintain order and negotiate peace between the ruling factions, private mercenary armies are called to action.
You are the commander of the Black Talons company, currently stationed in the Oberon system. After an eventful campaign, the military Tzanar Union has overrun the planet of Genai and blocked all departure from the system: leaving you and the Black Talons stranded. The only means of escape is to help the Genai forces repel the invading army and recapture the planet.
