Evaluation
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty – Master Collection Version released on October 24, 2023 as a re-release of a classic game. It launched as a complete, self-contained package — the store description includes the game itself plus digital bonus books (Screenplay Book and Master Book) with no mention of paid DLC, season passes, or planned expansions.
Since launch, Konami has issued a series of technical patches: a fix for an abnormal speed issue (October 2023), audio settings and window mode (December 2023), Steam Deck support (January 2024), a pause menu and Steam Input support (March 2024), expanded resolution options and mouse controls (September 2024), a bug fix update (December 2024), a Unity security vulnerability fix (October 2025), and minor fixes (February 2026). All updates have been purely technical improvements and maintenance — no new gameplay content or expansions.
A July 2026 news post announced a free trial promotion for Metal Gear Solid 1 tied to the launch of METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol.2 on August 27, 2026. That is a separate product and not additional content for this title.
There are no unreleased DLC entries, no announced future content, no roadmap, and no developer statements indicating additional content is planned for this game. It shipped as a finished re-release and its content was complete from day one.
