Midnight Ride

Midnight Ride launched on April 11, 2020, and has since received two paid DLC expansions: Galactic Detour (October 28, 2021) and Storyteller (December 11, 2022), both included in the Season Pass. The developer has maintained a rough pattern of one DLC per year since launch. A third paid DLC, Mad Scientist, has been in development for some time. A December 20, 2023 developer post promised a first-half-2024 release, but that window passed without a release. On April 10, 2024, the developer explained they were rebuilding the game in a new engine (Godot 4) to support animations, cloud saves, and other improvements, with the Mad Scientist DLC still being finalised alongside this effort. On August 14, 2024, the Mad Scientist store page went live on Steam for wishlisting, with the developer stating they would announce a release date once confident it was ready. A couple of bug fix posts followed in mid-August 2024 related to the beta build. The Mad Scientist DLC remains listed as unreleased on the store, and the last developer communication of any kind was on August 21, 2024. As of June 2026, there has been nearly 10 months of silence, with no release date announced and no update on the DLC's progress. The developer explicitly described Mad Scientist as the "final DLC" for Midnight Ride, so once it ships, the game's content will be complete — but there is currently no indication of when that will happen or whether development is still ongoing.
