Never Again launched its full 1.0 release on May 9, 2019, after roughly four years of development by a two-person team. The game had previously been available in early access, shipping Chapter 1 and then Chapter 2 (December 28, 2017) before the full release combined everything into the complete package. The April 2019 pre-release announcement confirmed that a third and final chapter would be included in the full game, and the May 9, 2019 release post confirmed the complete version was now available.
Following the 1.0 release, the developer issued an optimization and bug-fix update in October 2019 — the last update directly relating to Never Again. After that, the developer's communications shifted entirely to announcing new projects: "Do You See Sparky?" (announced March 9, 2023) and ZOOCHOSIS (announced January 17, 2024), both under the studio's expanded Clapperheads team. No further content for Never Again has been announced or hinted at in any post after the 1.0 launch.
The only DLC listed is the soundtrack, which was released in October 2018. There are no unreleased DLC entries. The developer has moved on to new projects and has not communicated any intention to return to Never Again with additional content. The game shipped as a complete narrative experience and has received no substantive updates since October 2019.

The main character - Sasha Anders, a thirteen year old girl who awakens from a nightmare. The world seems to be upside down for her. Everything becomes so strange. The house is imbued with loneliness and longing and it seems strange to our character considering it was always dominated by love and harmony. Everywhere except for the heroine's room, suspiciously darkens, without even a single sound. Her parents and younger brother have gone missing. The girl is smart and sensible beyond her years, but each person has their own fears, and sometimes they cannot cope. This is especially troubling Sasha, due to the slightest fear, she feels suffocated.
The story that we'll tell you penetrates deep in your heart and leaves the experience forever. The saddest part of this mystical tale, is that it is not a tale at all. This is the story of a little girl, the story of Sasha Anders.
