New World: Aeternum has been officially wound down by Amazon Game Studios. On October 28, 2025, the developer announced that Season 10: Nighthaven — which launched on October 13, 2025 — would be the final content update for the game on all platforms, citing that continued support was no longer sustainable. They made the Nighthaven update and the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion free for all players as a farewell gesture.
On January 15, 2026, the developer followed through with a detailed shutdown announcement: the game was delisted from all storefronts that same day and can no longer be purchased. Servers will remain online until January 31, 2027, allowing existing owners to keep playing, but no new content or server merges will occur — only basic maintenance to keep the game running smoothly. In-game currency purchases will cease on July 20, 2026. The game's store page on Steam currently shows no purchase options, confirming it has been removed from sale.
The completion date reflects October 13, 2025, when Season 10: Nighthaven shipped as the final content release.
