Night of the Dead

Night of the Dead launched out of Early Access on May 31, 2024, with a major update titled "v1.0 The Final Story" that added a new story chapter, a final dungeon, and a story ending — explicitly marking the completion of the game's narrative arc. All six DLC packs (cosmetic skin bundles) shipped in March 2024, before the 1.0 release, and no new DLC has been announced or listed as unreleased since. After the 1.0 launch, the developer continued maintenance and feature work through 2024 and into October 2025, with the most recent substantial update (Development Update #21, version 1.2.0.0) shipping on October 13, 2025, adding a new building and equipment. However, on October 14, 2025 — the very next day — Jackto Studios published a direct statement to the Night of the Dead community announcing that the team has moved on to an entirely new game: War of Banners, a medieval real-time strategy RPG. They described this as a new project they were "excited to finally share," with a demo available at Steam Next Fest. The Development Update #21 patch itself includes a link to War of Banners in the main menu, reinforcing that the studio's attention has shifted. There are no outstanding content commitments for Night of the Dead — no announced DLC, no roadmap items, no unreleased content on the store. The developer's own communication makes clear they are now focused on a new title. The game launched as a fully featured product in May 2024, received post-launch feature updates through October 2025, and the studio has publicly pivoted to its next project. The game is complete.
