Green Hell launched in Early Access in 2019 and reached its 1.0 release on September 5, 2019. Over the following five years, Creepy Jar delivered 21 free content updates, including the three-part "Spirits of Amazonia" story expansion, major gameplay overhauls, and combat-focused updates.
On August 29, 2024, Creepy Jar announced that Free Update #21 ("Decorations") would be the final content update for Green Hell on PC. When the update shipped on September 3, 2024, the developer confirmed: "Our adventure with Green Hell comes to an end with this free content update... we've decided to publish this one more and final update to the game and make the Green Hell experience complete. The game won't be getting any more new content updates on PC, but it will still be supported by our team."
The entire Creepy Jar team has since moved on to their next title, StarRupture, which launched in Early Access on January 6, 2026. A May 4, 2026 milestone post celebrating 12 million copies sold reflects fondly on Green Hell's history but contains no indication of any return to content development. A maintenance hotfix (v2.9.5) was issued on February 4, 2026, confirming the game remains playable and technically supported — just without new content. Green Hell is a complete, finished product.

CRAFT, BUILD, AND GET COZY
Create your ultimate Amazonian base using all the resources the jungle has to offer. Use wood, bamboo, stones, mud, and ropes to build either simple shelters or multi-level Amazonian mansions, or even take your survival to new heights by creating your home in the treetops.
Craft furniture, place decorations, and add some color to your base. You can also fortify it to keep it secure and light it up in the night. Make certain to keep alert for enemies looking for many ways to expel you from their territory or stand against them in a deadly Flamekeeper Challenge.
