Evaluation

No Mana, Just Dice launched on February 4, 2026 as a free-to-play tactical roguelike. Following launch, Dice Capital posted a handful of updates through mid-March 2026: two small feature patches (adding a scroll list view, Russian language support, and minor QoL improvements), a data collection summary post on February 13, 2026 describing how they used launch-week analytics for balance and bug-fixing purposes, and a minor bug fix on March 22, 2026 addressing a language display issue. The last developer communication was on March 22, 2026. None of these post-launch communications announce new content — there are no expansions, DLC, roadmaps, or future update plans mentioned. The data collection post on February 13, 2026 frames the launch period as a stabilization exercise ("Thank you once again for helping us stabilize the game during its early launch phase"), which reads as the developer wrapping up active post-launch support work rather than building toward new content. The store page contains no unreleased DLC, no season pass, and no language suggesting ongoing content additions. The game also launched free-to-play with no monetized content cycle (no battle pass, no seasonal content, no paid DLC). The release post described it as a complete, freely downloadable experience. At the time of the previous assessment (June 15, 2026), the game was still within the 180-day recently-launched window. As of today (August 6, 2026), that window has closed, and the pattern remains unchanged: no new content has been announced, no further developer communications have appeared beyond the March 22, 2026 bug fix, and the developer has not signaled any ongoing development plans. This is consistent with a game that launched as a finished product and received only routine stabilization support in its first few weeks.

About this game

"Heh heh... Behold the providence of darkness..." (Please, anything but a 1!)

Meet the disgrace of a prestigious magical family: a 'Zero Mana' dropout witch. All she has are massive debt and a set of 'sketchy, defective dice' bought from a loan shark. To overturn her miserable fate, she reluctantly enters the dungeon to find the legendary 'Wish-Granting Scroll.'

She acts like a cool, dark mage on the outside, but inside? She’s trembling in her boots. At every crossroads of fear, guide her with your 'Perfect Strategy!'

The Cowardly Witch's Dilemma

"Use the dice to run, or use them to fight?"

  • Perfect Information: Enemy actions are 100% telegraphed. Find the optimal ratio between movement and offense each turn.

  • Desperate Resource Management: You hold only 4 dice. Use a high roll to sprint away, and you lose firepower. Go all-in on the attack, and you're a sitting duck. Every die counts.

You can't control the odds, but you can design the outcome.

If the dice won't listen, just change the 'Scroll'.

  • Rethinking Dice Values: Every scroll interprets numbers differently. A generic '1' could be a failure on one scroll, but a critical hit on another.

  • 4 Scrolls, Condensed Strategy: You can only bring 4 scrolls into battle. Find the perfect balance between range, AoE (Area of Effect), survival, and impact.

Game Summary

  • Dice-Driven Tactics: A desperate survival roguelike where every action—from walking to striking—hinges on your dice rolls.

  • Telegraphed Combat: Enemy intents are fully visible. Enjoy the strategic thrill of allocating limited dice between 'Survival (Move)' and 'Impact (Attack).'

  • Dynamic Scroll Deck-Building: Collect scrolls that change range and effects based on dice values. Control every variable with a compact deck of 4 scrolls.
