Evaluation

Novus Orbis entered Early Access on February 10, 2025 and has received consistent, substantial updates throughout its development. The developer has shipped major content across the entire Early Access period: the Sky Archipelago level (July 20, 2025), the Outer Space level completing the second path (October 15, 2025), the full third playable class — the Mechanic (January 2, 2026), alternative bosses for all levels (April 27, 2026), and numerous feature patches in between. The most significant recent development is the update posted on September 9, 2026 (just two days before this assessment). In it, the developer explicitly states that Endless Mode — added in this update — is "the last piece of content that I wanted for 1.0 release." This directly follows the July 23, 2026 announcement that the final level was content-complete, and the June 18, 2026 post where the developer declared they were "finally ready to work on the conclusion for the game." The developer has now delivered all the content they set out to include in the 1.0 release. Based on the July 23, 2026 roadmap, the remaining work before 1.0 consists of 1–2 months of final testing, bug fixing, and balancing. Given that the last content update was September 9, 2026, a 1.0 release appears imminent — likely by late 2026. The game remains in Early Access until that 1.0 launch occurs.
