Evaluation

Nyctophobia launched on August 25, 2015 and received active post-launch support through mid-2016. The developer shipped two notable content updates: the "Own the Night" expansion (March 14, 2016) and the "Infinite Darkness HD Upgrade" (July 21, 2016), which added a new area, overhauled graphics, and improved gameplay. Both were delivered free of charge. The last developer communication of any kind was on October 5, 2017, when the developer posted a news update announcing a different, newer game called Resurgence — framing it as a "new and improved" successor to Nyctophobia with higher quality graphics and story. This strongly signals that the developer considers Nyctophobia a completed, legacy product, with their attention having moved on to a follow-up title. No DLC is listed on the store, no future content has been announced, and no post-July 2016 updates to Nyctophobia itself have been released. The developer's own redirect to a successor game in October 2017 effectively marks the end of the Nyctophobia development cycle. The game shipped as a complete product and received its final content update on July 21, 2016.
Evidence
Developer's final post redirects players to a brand-new successor game (Resurgence), describing it as a 'new and improved' game with higher quality graphics and story — effectively signaling the end of Nyctophobia's development lifecycle.

But even greater danger lurks. “The Keeper” senses your presence in his woods. He watches and whispers secrets. You must unravel his puzzles to overcome your fear of the dark and bring back the light.
