Evaluation

Out There: Ω Edition launched on April 2, 2015 and received a series of post-launch content updates over the following years. The developer ran a "Multiverse" free update series, delivering Cemetery Gates (announced September 2015, released October 2015) and Galactic Dusk (announced March 2016), each adding new game modes, technologies, and content. In January 2020, Mi-Clos ported "The Alliance" content update to Steam — originally released on Nintendo Switch the previous year — adding 30 new interactive stories, 3 new ships, a new ending, and additional mechanics. A follow-up patch (3.2) landed on September 30, 2020 to address bugs from The Alliance update. Since that September 2020 patch, all developer communications on this game's Steam page have been focused on promoting their sequel, Out There: Oceans of Time (announced August 2019, launched May 2022, with its own Redshift update in October 2022). No new content, roadmaps, or development updates for Out There: Ω Edition have been posted since September 30, 2020 — nearly six years ago as of today. The sole DLC listed (the soundtrack) was released at launch and is the only store-listed add-on. The developer's attention clearly shifted fully to the sequel. The pattern of updates for the Ω Edition — which spanned 2015 through 2020 — has long since concluded, with no signals of further content. The game appears to have shipped as a complete product, with content development wrapping up with the September 2020 patch.
